Roman Polanski, Quentin Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick...could you be the next big name in film?
If you've ever dreamed of working on a motion picture, why not study a course in 16mm Film making or Media Production at South Thames College? Our past students did and now they're working on films with Tim Burton and Warner Bros or studying at leading film schools and universities.
South Thames College offers the HNC and PDC in 16mm Film Production - the only courses of their kind in London. Run at the Wandsworth High Street campus, they offer a comprehensive overview of the production process through hands-on workshops, developing skills and knowledge in scriptwriting, pre-production and production including cinematography and lighting, sound recording, directing and all technical and creative aspects of production and post-production. Run on a part time basis, students produce short films, completed to cutting copy stage with dubbed sound track. |
| Perhaps the small screen is more your thing, so why not learn about storyboarding, scriptwriting and directing skills, practical skills in lighting, camera and editing with the HNC Media Production: TV and the PDC in Design: Media. South Thames College has a fully equipped TV studio plus 12 industry use cameras and 6 digital editing suites where students work in groups to make a range of TV productions in the areas of fiction, news and documentary, as well as a final major project of their own choice. |
The courses are taught by industry experts, including published authors, practising film-makers, scriptwriters and editors. They are able to provide full training in the use of professional production equipment and pass their knowledge onto the student, giving them the skills and experience needed to progress with their studies to a higher level, or gain employment.
